All of us at Care2 love animals and love to find fun ways to help our pet companions. This weekend is the end of National Shelter Appreciation Week -- and what better way to celebrate shelters and rescues than to join Care2 and Adopt-a-Pet.com in promoting shelter pet adoption through our new America's Favorite Animal Shelter contest!

Animal welfare groups estimate that at least six to eight million cats and dogs enter animal shelters every year, and half of them are euthanized because there is no one to adopt them. But all of these animals deserve a loving home.

The America's Favorite Animal Shelter contest is open to anyone in the US and Canada (excluding Quebec for legal reasons only) 18 and older. For today's Daily Action, vote for your favorite rescue group or shelter to help it win $10,000!
